Scope of role:
A credible consultant advising our clients on legislative and best practice matters. Delivering the core services of carrying out all types of surveys in all sectors; and also air sampling, fibre counting and 4-
stage clearance work. To seek to always improve skills and increase levels of responsibility. Reporting to the Managing Director overall but more so, on a day-to-day basis, reporting to the Regional Manager and other Directors when required.

Job Responsibilities Main Activities but not restricted to:

  • Surveying: all surveys types in all sectors (Management, Refurb, Demo, Re-inspections) in domestic, commercial and industrial sites
  • Analyst duties: air sampling, fibre counting & 4-stage clearance.
  • Project Management duties: check enclosure/work areas set up, witness smoke tests, carry out backgrounds, leaks, personals, clearance & reassurances. Liaise with the removal contractor and ensure jobs are delivered smoothly and on time. Be able to trouble shoot any problems.

  • Understand the requirements of existing clients to ensure their needs are being met
  • Always act to retain clients and enrich relationships with your colleagues and clients
  • Work in partnership with all the team, with the same shared business goals
  • Production and technical review/authorisation of reports
  • Compile and produce effective quotes/proposals for existing clients and new clients
  • Attend site meetings for quote purposes; with the ultimate aim to deal with initial queries, quotations and conception of live projects
  • Attend project related set-up and progress meetings
  • Provide communications with clients offering advice and guidance on technical matters
  • Work in compliance with the QMS, ensuring all kit checks and monthly QC’s are up to date
  • Training & auditing of new & existing staff
  • Ensure you obtain a briefing from the Project Manager so that you know exactly what is expected of you for every job. If in doubt, communicate. We do not work blindly.
  • Liaise with clients for project related matters
  • Own all your reports and ensure they are reviewed and issued swiftly or to meet any agreed deadlines and invoice works on completion
  • Only undertake site inspections for which authorised for
  • Work with your career goals in mind.
  • Remember that praise and recognition are earned; as is critique.

Other Requirements

  • Must have relevant Proficiency Module qualifications in the technical work and authorised to perform (CCP or either of P401-P404; or RSPH equivalents) and must be competent and experienced in all duties
  • Ensuring that inspection and testing activities are carried out in accordance with the requirements of ISO 17020 and ISO 17025
  • Educated to degree level ideal but not mandatory
  • Impressive, demonstrable track record and skills/experience gained within a similar position(s), at a similar level
  • Strong leadership skills and experience ideal but not mandatory
  • Credible and confident communicator (written and verbal) at all levels
  • Good IT skills e.g. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • First class presentation skills, ideal but not mandatory
  • Be able to respond confidently and competently to technical queries and questions; the ultimate aim being to deliver an Asbestos Awareness training session.
  • The ability to build strong external relationships to enhance and strengthen the company’s profile
